What density means

Density is how often a word appears as a share of the total word count. It is a rough signal of what a page is about. Very common filler words are skipped so the list focuses on meaningful terms.

density = (word count / total words) x 100

A real example

Before publishing, you check that your main topic actually appears often enough without being stuffed in unnaturally. A density of a few percent for your key term is usually healthy, while double digits can read as spammy.

Common questions

Why are words like the missing?

A short stop-word list filters out common connectors so the results show terms that describe the content.
