How to use this tool
This lbs to kg converter has two linked inputs. Type a value in the Pounds box and the Kilograms box fills in automatically, or type kilograms and the pounds value updates. Both directions work the same way, so you can convert pounds to kilograms or kilograms back to pounds without switching modes. Press "Copy result" to grab the full conversion as text, or "Clear" to reset both fields.
The formula
pounds = kilograms ÷ 0.453592
One pound equals exactly 0.45359237 kilograms by international agreement, which we round to 0.453592 for everyday body weight conversion. Because a pound is smaller than a kilogram, the number of kilograms is always lower than the number of pounds for the same object. Going the other way, you divide by the same factor (or multiply by about 2.20462) to turn an imperial metric mass back into pounds.
A real example
Say a person weighs 150 pounds and wants the metric figure. Multiply 150 by 0.453592, which gives 68.0388 kilograms, or about 68.04 kg. To check it the other way, divide 68.0388 by 0.453592 and you land back on 150 pounds. A 25 kg suitcase, by comparison, works out to 25 × 2.20462 = 55.12 pounds.
Common questions
How many kilograms are in one pound?
One pound is exactly 0.45359237 kilograms, commonly rounded to 0.453592. So multiply any pound value by 0.453592 to get kilograms.
How do I convert pounds to kilograms quickly in my head?

Can I convert kilograms back to pounds here?
Yes. The two inputs are linked, so typing a value in the Kilograms box fills in the Pounds box instantly. It works in both directions for any body weight conversion.

The tool keeps a few decimal places for accuracy. For everyday use you can round to one or two decimals, which is plenty for tracking body weight.
