How to use this tool
Enter how many cigarettes you used to smoke per day, how many cigarettes come in a pack (usually 20), and what you paid per pack. Then pick the date you quit. Press Calculate savings and this quit smoking savings calculator works out the cigarette money saved per day, month, and year, the total you have kept in your pocket since your quit date, and the number of cigarettes you have not smoked. It also shows a health benefits timeline so you can see how your body recovers as the days pass.
How the savings are calculated
daily savings = cigarettes per day × cost per cigarette
total saved = daily savings × days since you quit
The math is simple. First the calculator finds what a single cigarette cost you by dividing the pack price by the number of cigarettes in a pack. Multiplying that by the cigarettes you smoked each day gives your daily spend, which is now your daily savings. For the savings timeline it counts the whole days between your quit date and today using the browser clock, then multiplies. Monthly figures use an average month of about 30.44 days and yearly figures use 365 days, so the projections stay realistic.
A real example
Suppose you smoked 20 cigarettes a day, a pack holds 20 cigarettes, and a pack cost $8.00. Each cigarette cost 40 cents, so a pack a day was $8.00 a day. That is about $243.50 a month and $2,920 a year. If you quit 90 days ago you have saved roughly $720 and skipped 1,800 cigarettes. Watching that number climb is a strong reminder of why the decision to quit was worth it.
Health benefits timeline
Beyond the cigarette money saved, your body starts repairing itself quickly. Within a day your blood oxygen and carbon monoxide levels improve, within a couple of weeks circulation and lung function get better, and over months your risk of heart problems keeps dropping. The tool flags which of these common milestones you have already reached based on how long it has been since your quit date.

Common questions
How much money will I save by quitting smoking?
It depends on your habit. A pack a day at $8 a pack is about $2,920 a year. Enter your own numbers and the calculator shows your exact cigarette money saved per day, month, and year.
How does the savings timeline count my days?
It uses your device clock to count the full days between the quit date you enter and today, then multiplies by your daily savings. Pick the date you actually stopped for an accurate total.
What if a pack does not hold 20 cigarettes?
Change the cigarettes per pack field to match your brand. The tool divides the pack price by that number to find your true cost per cigarette, so the savings stay correct.
What is the health benefits timeline based on?
It lists widely cited recovery milestones, such as improved oxygen levels within a day and better circulation within a few weeks, and marks the ones your quit date has passed. It is a general guide, not a medical assessment.
Is the data I enter saved anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Close the tab and your numbers are gone unless you copy the results yourself.
