How the conversion works
Clothing sizes do not follow a single mathematical formula across every garment, so this converter uses the standard published size tables that most US, UK and EU retailers follow. For many women's garments the EU number is the US number plus 32 and the UK number is the US number plus 4, while men's suits and jackets are sized by chest measurement where the EU label is the inch chest plus 10. Shoes and shirts use their own well-known scales. Because every brand cuts a little differently, treat the result as a close reference rather than a guaranteed fit.
A real example
Say you wear a US women's size 8 dress and want to buy from a German boutique that labels everything in EU sizes. Choose Women, the Dress item, US as the region, and size 8. The converter returns EU 40 and UK 12. Order the EU 40 and it should match the fit you already know, give or take each brand's own cut.

Are clothing sizes the same across every brand?
No. These charts reflect the common standard for US, UK and EU sizing, but individual brands run small or large. Check the brand's own size guide for the best fit, especially for fitted items like dresses and suits.
How are men's suit and jacket sizes converted?
Men's suits and jackets are sized by chest measurement in inches. The US and UK numbers are the same, and the EU number is that inch measurement plus 10. So a US 40 chest is a UK 40 and an EU 50.
Do shoe sizes use the same scale as clothing?
No, footwear has its own scale. This tool includes a separate shoe item for men and women so you can convert US, UK and EU shoe sizes without mixing them up with apparel sizes.
