How to use this tool
- Pick Women or Men, since the conversion tables differ between them.

- Choose which system that number belongs to: US, UK, EU, or CM foot length.
- Click Convert to see the matching US, UK, EU, and CM sizes side by side.
How the shoe size converter works
This shoe size converter US to UK tool uses standard footwear conversion tables rather than a single formula, because real shoe sizing is built from fixed step charts that brands follow. Each row in the chart pairs a US size with its UK, EU, and CM equivalents. When you enter a value, the tool finds the closest row for that system and reads the rest of that row back to you.
US to UK (men): UK is about US minus 0.5.
EU and CM come from the matched chart row, not arithmetic alone.
The US to UK gap is the most useful shortcut to remember. For women, a US size is roughly two full sizes higher than the UK number. For men, the two systems are much closer, usually about half a size apart. EU sizes and CM foot length are measured differently, so they are read straight from the international footwear sizes chart below.
A real example
Say you wear a US women's 8. Switch to Women, enter 8, leave the unit on US, and convert. The tool returns a UK 6, an EU 38.5, and a foot length near 24.6 cm. If you instead had a UK 6 from a British retailer, entering 6 with the unit set to UK gives you back the same US 8, so you can shop with confidence either way.
Common questions
Is US to UK the same for men and women?
No. For women a US size is about two sizes larger than the UK size, while for men the difference is only about half a size. That is why this tool asks you to choose a gender first.
How accurate is a US UK EU shoe size conversion?
Conversion charts are a strong guide, but brands vary. Use the result as a starting point, then check the maker's own size guide, especially across very different regions.
Should I convert by CM foot length instead?
Measuring your foot in centimeters and matching the CM column is often the most reliable method, since it skips brand label differences entirely. Stand on paper, mark heel to longest toe, and measure.
Why do EU sizes have half steps like 38.5?
The EU system uses Paris points, where each full unit is two thirds of a centimeter. That fine step often lands on a half number when matched to US or UK whole sizes.
Does this work for kids' shoe sizes?
This chart covers adult men's and women's footwear sizes. Children's sizing uses a separate scale, so the numbers here should not be used for kids.
